Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens is owned and staffed by people who live in the community. We care about our neighbors. There is a saying, “charity begins at home”. As an organization, we believe in this idea, so we looked into our neighborhood and asked, what can we do to help.
We are the proud home of a Firefighter/EMS monument, which contains a piece of the World Trade Center, to honor those lost in the line of duty. We donated the land and gave the monument at cost. The Calvert Fire and EMS divisions participate in a Fallen Heroes Day held on our grounds the third Saturday in May. This event is open to the public.
The key word here is volunteer. These are men and women who give their time and risk their lives without compensation. We appreciate this service and wanted to do something to show honor and respect. We offer a $500.00 pre-planning credit for volunteer Firefighters and EMS. Our Veterans and Police also receive the same credit.
We support Calvert Hospice and partner with End Hunger in Calvert by participating in the yearly food drive as a drop-off of non-perishable items.
Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens will continue to seek ways to engage and invest in our community.
